Wawang Pulo

According to the ancestors of the land, Wawang Pulo was a place found at the northern end of Polo (which will later be known as Valenzuela). In the early records, it was said that there were twenty families residing in the place.

The nameless town was deemed to be a little depressing because it was far from the civilization and it was enveloped by surrounding bodies of water such as the Obando River, Meycauayan River, and “Wawa ng Ilog Pulo.”

The townsfolk gathered to talk about the name of their town. They thought that because they were surrounded by rivers, particularly by “Wawa ng Ilog Pulo”, they connected Wawa and Pulo together.

Nowadays, the town can be considered as a thriving subdivision with schools, chapels, basketball court, Barangay Halls, Health Center and other private establishments. The whole place has a land area of 27.8 hectares with 3,308 residents dwelling in it.
